Oysters

There is rich history of oysters farming in Mali Ston, that we know from the write evidence, from the arhives of Dubrovnik Republic. The first written document we have is from the 14th  century.

The Ston oysters have a special taste, which is the result of a special position of the Bay of Malioston, which is undergoing Neretva, thus making this bay especially suitable for growing shellfish.

In most restaurants and especially in Ston, you can try this specialty.

Uzgajanje kamenica ima dugu tradiciju u Malom Stonu što nam je sačuvano u arhivima Dubrovačke Republike. Pisani tragovi o uzgoju kamenica su iz 14. stoljeća.

Stonske kamenice imaju poseban okus što je rezultat posebnog položaja Malostonskog zaljeva u koji se uljeva Neretva te na taj način čini ovaj zaljev osobito pogodnim za uzgoj školjkaša.
